Pune development authority to get DPR on Pune Metro extensions

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is expected to receive a detailed project report (DPR) on Pune metro corridor extensions soon by next week.

The extensions have been proposed on Shivajinagar-Hadapsar-Loni Kalbhor and Saswad road. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) drafted the DPR on metro corridor extensions.

The PMRDA is already constructing a metro line from Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar, which will connect the city鈥檚 Western and Eastern parts.

The authority has been working on the development of more lines in and around Pune.

Considering the proposed international airport ahead of Saswad, the possibility of extending the Metro line up to Saswad road is being explored from Hadapsar.

PMRDA chief Suhas Diwase said that they are expecting the study report in the following few days. Further, the plan will be made after studying the report.
