Govt furthers deadline of Smart Cities Mission till 2025

The Central government has extended the Smart Cities Mission until March 2025 in response to the recent petition made by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. According to a news statement from the CMO, Reddy recently visited the nation's capital and spoke with Manohar Lal Khattar, the Union minister for housing and urban affairs, asking him to extend the Smart City Mission's deadline till June 2025.

The Smart City Mission was extended by the Union government until March 31, 2025, in a letter sent to the states on Saturday, according to the release. The Centre had previously stated that it wanted to finish the Smart City objective by the end of June.
In Warangal and Karimnagar, several projects have been undertaken as part of the state's Smart Cities Mission. In Warangal, up to 45 projects have already been finished, while 66 more, costing Rs 5.18 billion, are now in development. Twenty-five of the Rs 2.87 billion worth of ongoing work in Karimnagar have been finished, and the CM has updated the Union Minister on the project's condition, according to the announcement.
The official letter from the Centre clarified that the approved works will be continued and no new works will be sanctioned.
