MoRTH inaugurates rail-cum-road bridge project of Rs 696 cr

Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), inaugurated a 14.5 km long Rail-cum-Road bridge over the Ganga river approach project on the National Highway (NH) 333B in Munger, Bihar, worth Rs 696 crore.
Gadkari said under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar, the ministry is committed to empowering every city and village of Bihar, providing better connectivity.
He said that the city of Munger, one of the major tourist and pilgrimage sites of Bihar, is known for its rich ancient heritage, history, culture, education and commerce. He added that with the construction of this bridge, the distance from Munger to Khagaria will be less than 100 km, and the distance from Munger to Begusarai will be less than 20 km.
Additionally, it will save three hours of travelling time from Munger to Khagaria - Saharsa and 45 minutes from Munger to Begusarai - Samastipur.The Rail-cum-Road bridge will reduce traffic jams, save fuels, and accelerate traffic.
Gadkari said there would be an increase in tourism, agriculture and industry, which will increase employment in the state. He also said this project would bring progress and prosperity to the entire region and will be a milestone in the progress of the state and the country.
