Eighteen railway stations across Gujarat have been modernised with a Rs 1.64 billion investment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, benefiting over 200,000 daily passengers and 1,150 trains. The upgrades span the Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar divisions, with enhancements such as dual entry points, wide foot overbridges with lifts, landscaped green zones, and new buildings housing booking offices and concourses. Stations like Derol and Samakhiali received significant investments, incorporating traditional art and improved amenities. Tourist stations, including Mahuva, Palitana, Dakor, and Karamsad, were upgraded with heritage-inspired designs, while industrial hubs like Hapa, Kanalus, Mithapur, Okha, and Rajula saw infrastructural improvements. These developments aim to enhance passenger experience and preserve cultural heritage.
